Kundalini Yoga for Youth
|
This
program has been developed
in response to the
disproportionate number and
degree of challenges facing
American teenagers today.
After seven years of
teaching Kundalini Yoga to
youth in the neighborhoods
of Boston, Massachusetts and
Providence, Rhode Island,
both the necessity of the
program and the ever
increasing need for more
classes and strong funding
support remain imperative.
Through intentional
breathing, exercise, deep
relaxation and meditation,
youth dynamically experience
the wealth of potential and
resources at hand within
themselves, while attaining
the skills necessary to
maintain that inner
connection and strength.
They
experience such
transformations as:
increased peace of mind, a
deeper sense of security,
optimism toward their
future, a heightened sense
of self, improved
concentration, mental and
emotional control, expanded
awareness and sensitivity
and in general, a
revitalized mind, body, and
spirit.
Through this challenging
work upon themselves, self
discipline
and motivation
improve
with the gained
understanding that, while
life may present its
seemingly uncontrollable
challenges, there is one
thing we can control -
ourselves: the way we
perceive and respond to
those challenges.
Such awareness shifts one's
attention from the dangers
outside to the strengths
within. It presents life as
a joyful challenge,
conquerable through personal
growth and awareness. |
