Yoga at the Ashram to Host International Expert Sherry Brourman

Millis, Ma., (January 6, 2017) – Yoga at the Ashram is pleased to announce they will host world walking and gait therapy expert Sherry Brourman of Tensegrity Center for Yoga Therapy in Santa Monica, CA, for a 6-day course entitled, “Yoga Therapy for the Structural System,” to be held March 21-26, 2017.
Throughout this functional anatomy training, participants will experience the therapeutic power of yoga as Sherry leads them through the structural forms of the moving body and explains how correcting common imbalances can prevent injuries and pain.
The course is geared toward yoga therapists and teachers from all traditions. In addition, experienced yoga students seeking to deepen their practice are also invited to take this course. Healthcare professionals with a background in yoga are also welcome. A list of recommended preparatory reading will be supplied at time of registration.
“Participants will emerge with a deeper understanding of their own body and engineering system. We will put all the pieces together to understand how the structural parts function collectively,” Sherry explained.
A physical therapist for 45 years, Sherry Brourman, PT, E-RYT 500 authored Walk Yourself Well, and is currently working on her new book, Using Yoga Therapeutically. Using her in-depth structural understanding as the base, and movement fluidity as the mission, Sherry offers innovative and integrative tools for her students and patients. Sherry is founder and director of Tensegrity Center for Yoga Therapy, continues her physical therapy practice and teaches seminars internationally. Her work has been featured in such prestigious publications as Vogue Magazine, New York Times and Yoga Journal, in addition to numerous other print publications and digital platforms.

Yoga Therapy for the Structural System is part of the 1,000-hour International Kundalini Yoga Therapy Professional Training which is accredited by the International Association of Yoga Therapists and offered by the Guru Ram Das Center for Medicine and Humanology. Continuing education credits are also available for participants. One does not have to be enrolled in the 1,000 hour training in order to attend this segment.
Guest space is available on a first-come, first-served basis for a discounted rate of $50/night. The course will include vegetarian lunches, served daily and a course manual from Sherry.
